All set for new yard

The family is settling into the new house nicely. Bella and Arya love their new big bedrooms, and it’s nice having a toy room for them as well. With all our things moved in, it is time to turn our attention to the front yard. Every day I learn more about landscaping, Essendon is home to some stunning front yards so the standard in this area is quite high. Not only do I need to match the high standards of the yards in my street, but I also need something that will stand out.

Pat says I have to rein in my spending, but this is coming out of the investing account. I don’t see why it’s any of his business what I do with my garden money anyway. He doesn’t know it yet, but a landscaped yard is one of the best investments you can make. It can literally double the value of your property if done properly. We are still thinking of moving interstate, so we may need to rent out our new North Melbourne home. So, we will attract a much higher rental rate of return with an immaculate front yard. The entry is all about first impressions, and an amazing first impression translates to dollars in your pocket. It is also easy to update your driveway even when you are living in your house. More involved renovations often require you to move out- and Pat would never stand for that. He is not one for seeing the big picture, to be quite honest. Renovations to your yard can go on without much inconvenience to the residents, so we will start with that.

I was thinking, for the driveway, it would be nice to get concrete resurfacing, Melbourne North houses tend to be quite dated so a new driveway would give an interesting modern twist. Our house is one of the older homes in our street, and it can look a little tired and shabby compared to others. It is a little embarrassing really.
